Austin Window Cleaning Tip for July

Today’s tip is how to clean your own windows for a streak-free shine. We know that many of you do like to do your own touch-ups and that that some of you might not yet have an outside Austin window cleaning service. These tips are for you!

On the other hand, good old fashioned vinegar (white distilled) works wonders.

The easiest way to get a streak-free shine is to buy a bottle of regular window cleaner and pour about 1/3 of it out (or save in another container for later use). Then add white distilled vinegar to replace the window cleaner you just poured out. Mix well and you’re ready to go.

Now for the cloth or wiping material. Have any of you found the cloth wipes and paper towels can leave lots of streaks, too? Believe it or not, crumpled newspaper is the best thing to use to clean windows and mirrors. I’m sure there’s a scientific reason for this, but honestly, I have no idea why. Just know that newspaper works! So save that Sunday paper and pull a few sheets out when you’re ready to clean your windows.

Just spray a modest amount of window cleaner on your window or mirror, and then wipe with the crumpled newspaper. You’ll find yourself seeing out a crystal clear window or gazing back at yourself through a streak-free mirror.

If you just don’t have the time to clean your own windows (or maybe you’d just like to do better things with that time!) then give Central Texas Window Cleaning a call. We’re your Austin window cleaning specialists!
